"There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so," Hamlet. And what our readers think of the Sony Xperia X Performance is, well, not good.
Our readers gave the Xperia X a middling reception, but when asked if they will buy an X Performance, two out of three people voted "No." And the immediate culprit is price - $700 or รข¬700 (or more) is just expensive, regardless of specs.
And the specs themselves drew plenty of fire. People in the comments constantly brought up the Xperia Z5, including the smaller Z5 Compact and the bonkers Z5 Premium (the one with a 5.5" 4K screen). Even older models like the Z3 and Z2 were mentioned.
These phones offer users a lot more bang for the buck. If nothing else, the Z5 and Z3 can shoot 4K video and have better battery life. Competing flagships like the Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 were, of course, also in the mix.
Bezels were an issue too, with the Moto G2 (a late 2014 mid-ranger) pointed to as an example of how stereo speakers dont have to make a phone tall. The Z5 is a bit taller than the X Performance, but it also has 0.2" more screen size.
! ( hope useful)
