Developers of popular email client CloudMagic have announced that they will be renaming the product to Newton, effective immediately. The updated app is now available on iOS, Android, and macOS. A Windows app is currently in the pipeline.
The company also announced that it will be moving from a free model to a yearly subscription. Users who want to access the appâs premium features, such as read receipts, snooze, send later, undo send, sender profile, connected apps, and more will have to pay a yearly subscription fee of $49.99 after the 14-day trial period expires. Those who previously purchased the Mac app will get one yearâs worth of subscription for free.
Alternatively, you can continue using the app for free but wi thout the premium features. Even the Mac app, which was previously paid, can now be downloaded for free and used without paying for the premium features.
CloudMagic, or rather Newton, has a reputation for being a solid, user friendly email application with plenty of useful features. If that sounds like something you require a lot on a daily basis then the price is justified. Else, there are plenty of alternatives out there. Just something to keep in mind before you run around giving 1-star rating and even driving away people who wouldnât mind paying.
