PhoneBuff performs head to head drop test of the Moto Z Force and Galaxy S7 active

The closest competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S7 active is the newly released Lenovo Moto Z Force Droid Edition, available exclusively though Verizon. The S7 active remains an AT&T exclusive device as well.

These phones both claim they have shatter proof displays which can withstand drops of up to 5 feet high onto flat surfaces. PhoneBuff performed head-to-head drop tests with the Moto Z Force and the Samsung Galaxy S7 active.

After watching the video, you can see which of the two phones proved to be much more durable in extreme scenarios. The Moto Z Force’s display stopped working after 6 drops from about 5 feet high (selfie height) onto a concrete slab.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 active conforms to MIL-STD-810G mili tary standards for durability under extreme conditions. Perhaps it’s thanks to that and Samsung’s more protective exterior lined with a hard rubber that allowed the phone to survive the face-down drop test 50 times. The Moto Z Force wasn’t designed with these same standards, but both are quite durable on the exterior.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 active is IP68 water resistant and the Moto Z Force is not. The Z Force does not carry the same certification as the Galaxy S7 active, rather, a nano coating has been applied throughout the interior and exterior of the Z Force which protects components against shorting with the presence of water.

! ( hope useful)
