Samsung Galaxy S8 Specifications with Guide and Review

The Galaxy S8 is a big screen on a not very big foam and this is an even bigger screen on that much bigger phone its galaxy s 8 so whats new here is that theyre super tall because they got rid of the bezels on the top and the bottom of the phone and now the sides are still curved like they are on like the galaxy s7 edge. These phones come now Samsungs not calling it an infinity display and it looks really sharp and its got you know HDR color.

Galaxy S8 Specs
Samsung makes great screens and these look great really the thing that hits you hardest when you look at the hardware on this phone. The curved, 5.8-inch Infinity Screen stretches all the way to the edges, 5.8" (full rectangle) / 5.6" (rounded corners) Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Display. Full rectangle measured diagonally and rounded corners measured diagonally. So youll get the biggest picture possible, without added bulk. Both of S8 have the same resolution which is 20 960 x 1440.

Galaxy S8 Review
Get rich, deep contrast and vibrant color with the worlds first HDR-certified smartphone display‡, and multi-task like a pro in split-screen. Its feels really great the seams are even harder to find than they are on the S7 edge the glass just sort of melts into the sides and they dont have a camera bump on the back this honestly it feels like some of the best phone hardware.

Those Galaxy S8 bezels on the top and the bottom means they had to make some changes. so youll notice theres no home button here in the front its not on the back either what there is is like a virtual home button. Samsung has added some haptic feedback, its kind of like force touch on the iPhone but its only right here at the very bottom. So, even if you dont see a software home button you can still press hard on that area of the screen and that is going to take you Galaxy S8 home.

Galaxy S8 Guide
  • Android Nougat 7.0
  • Press and hold virtual home button for Google Assistant
  • Swipe up for app tray
  • Cleaner interface
  • Customizable Edge display works like shortcuts
  • Samsung Connect app works with SmartThings to let you control smart home appliances remotely
Samsung Galaxy S8 Manual
If you want to unlock the phone you actually have three different ways you can do it now well for you can do your password or your pattern as usual but theres a Galaxy S8 fingerprint sensor on the back it is located right next to the camera which is a little bit hard to reach and not great if youre left-handed and it also means youre probably going to end up putting your finger on the camera sometimes which could cause some smudges. So, make sure you wipe it off or you take a picture theres also iris scanning which is very secure and then theres now face scanning.

I dont think its quite as secure as the iris scanning or the fingerprint sensor but my god is it past like look at how fast this thing unlocks you blink and you miss it. You dont have to wait for it to scan your face at all it just works there a little bit narrower than the Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge. The S8/S8+ can fit in a three thousand milliamp battery at a 3,500 one on the S8+ its not exactly pushing the limit in terms of battery capacity. Samsung also claims that the S8 battery is about long-term performance rather than a short-term benchmarking burst. Its expected to hold a longer charge after 6 months, a year and two years compared to the S7. The redesigned 3,000 mAh battery in the Galaxy S8 has been built to pass an 8-point battery safety check. This Galaxy S8 has extreme testing process, followed by careful inspection, ensures that Samsungs batteries meet the highest quality standards.

Galaxy S8 Features
Both of Galaxy S8 got IP68 waterproofing theres four gigs of ram theres 64 gigs of on-board storage and theres expandable storage. There is a standard 3.5 millimeter S8 headphone jack and one thing that Samsung didnt change is the camera on the back its still 12 megapixel sensor. Samsung says it has improved the image processing software. We really like these cameras on the f7 imagine theyre going to be just as good probably a little bit better. The front-facing camera its now eight megapixels and it has autofocus which is pretty cool when youre in the camera.

Bixby
The big big things thats new in the S8 its called Bixby. its Samsungs intelligent agent, how it works? in the camera to start when youve got the camera app open you can hit this button and then itll go into bixby mode and its going to auto-detect whatever it sees on the screen.
Bixby Button

So if its pointed out some flowers its going to recognize that theyre flowers and show the pictures of more flowers or maybe let me go buy some flowers. It wasnt able to figure out exactly what model of watch it was it actually like figured out it was a watch and showed a bunch of pictures of other watches or let me go to amazon to buy a watch that looks like it which is really impressive but beyond like a our stuff in the camera.

Bixbys really for is to sort of make it easier to use Samsungs own software their goal is to have anything that you would do by touching the phone you can do by speaking to the phone with any compatible app its of course starting on Samsung.

Galaxy S8 tutorial to use Bixby by holding down a side button, which is actually a really bold move theyve got a whole extra button and big speed turns out to not be that great they basically wasted part of the hardware of the phone on this thing so were gonna have to see.

Samsung DeX
Samsung DeX gives you a much larger screen for working from your phone. You can use the S8 as your computer by this Dex features. The Samsung DeX is a standalone dock that displays your phone apps and media on a monitor. But you have to buy it separately. Youll also need a monitor, keyboard and mouse in addition to the dock and cables. It worked well in Samsung demo.
